Getting down and arty

via
We're all fully aware of my love of Kirra Jamison's art/style/wardrobe...right? There has been post after post about that lady filling s.o.w but you gotta hear me out just one more time - things just keep getting better! Dane Lovett (Kirra's house is also Dane's house) also possesses this super talent of the arty kind. His latest work, Forking in the River of Time, says it all.

Speaking of arty, I decided my weekend needed a hit of the cultured kind. So dinner is locked in at Giallo, the little eatery-come-wine bar housing vintage Scandinavian inspired furniture, local art work, a menu packed with local produce and an ever changing boutique wine list. Sitting shoulder to shoulder with an art gallery on Adelaide's city fringe, chef/owner who did his "chef-y time" in NYC, opened up shop in Adelaide and has left yours truly crazily excited to have some developments like this popping up around town. If you're an inter-stater, Giallo is a must on your to-do list! Just be sure to book ahead. The intimate seating arrangements can lead to a few broken hearts...

Happy weekend to all. Hope it's packed with all sorts of goodness!x

p.s. check out a very fresh and very exciting start on bloglovin'!

Hello Handsome

via

via
Hump-day comes with nothing less than that necessary caffeine whack to boost us on until 5pm. No need to thank me, but I just thought you too might love the fact that this is available online - ready, willing and able to support us through these mid week hours.... This handsome bunch of coffee makers are the brains behind the goods, doing the coffee thing their way. It may not be for everyone, but they're stuck on a good thing. Doing their bit for all the quality-over-convenience-lovers out their. They're our huckleberry.

Good to see you babe

via
It's a doom and gloom kinda day in my neck of the woods as the wintry months are getting ready to settle in. Without these few links to satisfy my sticky beak, my mood would be a shove away from drowning in the dumps! Hope these few clicks take your Friday to 5pm just a tad quicker too.

*Street art takes on a graphical brilliance! Snoop into Lucas Grogan's interview and check out his blue-toned masterpieces. Some of his work plastered down Melbourne's Hosier Lane would see me drift off into a little daydream as I'd slow my pace to admire-mode on my way to work - I'm still as fascinated as ever. Seems every time I look over this art I spot something new going on in all that detail.

*The wintery months do have some benefits! Like cooking up this perfectly tomato-y, broth-y sunny but warm Italian soup I stumbled across at this great new blog!

*Design nerds...are you seated? Here's septemberindustry's latest. Lee Goater's recent project showcase takes the cake.

Happy weekend to us all. Enjoy! x

Conroy & Wilcox

Titian pearl ring via

Baroque pearl wrapped in matte brush polished claws of gold. Pardon me while I roll my tongue up and pick my jaw off the floor. FYI I have a tendency to drool over anything pearl adorned, with this being no exception. Wouldn't this be the perfect (may I stress, perfect) addition my digits have been searching for?

Black diamond cut collar via

Who's Conroy & Wilcox, you ask? The result of one brilliant collaboration between Gillian Conroy and Danica Wilcox. Specialising in heirloom-quality designs, seems the  independently owned  New York based company is what it's   all about when we talk things 'bling.' I guess you would be too if you've donned the likes of Ms. Jolie...

It's a trap, but check out the Online store!

"Whelmed"

via
I swung by a favourite blog of mine, hearted girl, the other day to find myself settling back in thought, contemplating my path in life, my dreams and wondering "if it all came tumbling, what would I do?"

Lynn, this inspiring, beautiful, happiness-injecting woman wrote an open, honest note to us all reflecting on her "trip-tastrophe." Without saying too much, I think it's worth the few minutes it will take you to head on over to Hearted Girl and have a little read of this honest account of needing to focus on oneself fully to heal most sincerely (as Lynn puts it).

I reckon we could all do with a little bit more of this too. Danielle LaPorte, as Lynn makes note of, packs a punch with her take on how we view ourselves, our life, our world...

As Danielle LaPorte writes:
Ban "overwhelmed" from your vocabulary. Refuse it entry to your psyche. You're bigger than that. Just be, you know, whelmed (this is best said with a Jewish, Brooklyn accent.) Whelmed. Not at full capacity, rather, full of capacity. Whelmed. Sounds full of potential, doesn't it?

Melbourne Wardrobe - Kirra Jamison

via

If my previous posts about this lady haven't given you a hint, you might catch on this time 'round that I'm a hugely faithful fan of Kirra Jamison's talent that backs her beautiful art works. Seems her intuitive flair for colour doesn't just stop at a canvas. Head here and take a little snoop at what this lovely lady loads her hangers with! Makes me want to kick the black out of my wardrobe and throw a few beautiful hues its way...

The Invisible Children

via
By now most of us have noticed 'KONY' has been tweeted by celebraties, facebook-ed, youtube-ed, blogged, etc. And what a fierce campaign it's been! But who is Kony? You should take a second, not to watch the viral youtube 'flick', but to check this out and see another view on Kony2012 for a contrasting take. Get an opinion. Act as you wish.

On a side note, lets just take a second to notice how powerful social media really is! It's incredible to see how socially aware we can become...at the touch of a 'tweet.'

As moved as I am by the overall message and intention of KONY2012, I'm still left a little concerned at how rapidly something like this has spread the world's digital sphere and left other major global issues shoved to the back of the line, forgotten about and never to be re-tweeted again. And because they're not re-tweeted, facebook-ed or blogged, it seems the younger gens of society may as well question their importance. Where do you stand on the Kony2012 campaign?
